THE EMERGENCE OF SKIB CORPORATION
SKIB CORPORATION originally emerged as the main shield of the 60-year-old company “M/s Haji Md. Shamsul Hoque and Sons” in October 2021. Initially established as a subsidiary, “SKIB CORPORATION” aimed to leverage the extensive experience and established reputation of its parent company. However, over time, “M/s Haji Md. Shamsul Hoque and Sons” took over the original corporate structure of “SKIB CORPORATION” itself, integrating it more fully into its operations.
Currently, “SKIB CORPORATION” conducts all business activities under the parent company’s name, “M/s Haji Md. Shamsul Hoque and Sons,” and is actively expanding its business scope. This strategic integration has allowed “SKIB CORPORATION” to diversify its operations significantly. While the company initially focused on trading, it has since branched out into various sectors, including import & export and manufacturing.
Today, “SKIB CORPORATION” is involved in multiple industries, reflecting its broadening business activities. The company is focusing on foods and construction materials, in addition to maintaining its presence in the secondhand clothes market. This diversification and expansion are part of a deliberate strategy to leverage the parent company’s strengths and resources, ensuring sustained growth and a robust market presence for “SKIB CORPORATION” in the years to come.
HOW WAS THE JOURNEY OF THE ORIGINAL PARENT COMPANY
In the seventies, “Mr. Haji Md. Shamsul Haque” started his business in Amir Market, Khatunganj, Chittagong. Since then, the main business has been trading secondhand clothes. The company imported secondhand clothes from different parts of the world and sold them wholesale in the domestic market of Bangladesh. His business operations were located in Khatunganj’s Amir Market until the nineties.
Later, he closed his business operations from Amir Market and started his business activities at Mayakattara Market in Sadarghat, Dhaka, Bangladesh. At the beginning of the year 2000, he left Mayakattara Market and started his business activities at Mallik Tower, which has been running to date.
In 2021, he decided not to limit his business operations to Dhaka only and to conduct business from the original place where his business was founded, Amir Market in Khatunganj. On that occasion, after entrusting the responsibility of managing the business to his son “Md. Ibrahim” in Amir Market, he started his journey in Khatunganj in October 2021 under the banner of “SKIB CORPORATION”. One of the objectives of this move is to expand the business to other sectors without limiting it to the trading of secondhand clothes, a journey which is still ongoing.
